Betting: Inter Milan

United’s match against Inter Milan takes place during Cheltenham Festival week and there are a couple of special bets available combining the football and racing action on Wednesday.

Sir Alex is a part-owner of the horse What A Friend, one of the favourites for the RSA Chase (2.40). A special double bet is available via www.manutd.com/bet on both What A Friend and United to win in 90 minutes and the odds are 9/1.

Also, Ronaldo Des Mottes runs in Cheltenham’s 4.40 race, the Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle. Victory for that horse could be a good omen for Cristiano’s prospects and it’s 50/1 that Ronaldo Des Mottes wins and his Portuguese namesake scores first at Old Trafford the same night (within 90 minutes).

The Reds are 1/2 to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League and 8/11 to do so in 90 minutes by winning the match. It’s 6/1 for a 0-0 draw that would send the tie into extra time.

If an additional half-hour is needed, United are 14/1 to go through before penalties. Sir Alex has said he believes Inter will play for penalties and the odds for United to win a shoot-out are 18/1.

Ronaldo heads the first goalscorer betting on 7/2 ahead of Wayne Rooney at 4/1 and Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez both on 9/2.
