Man City defender Lescott has told The Sun Rooney also beats him on FIFA 11 - Xbox
Man City defender Joleon Lescott has told The Sun of how he tried to get immediate revenge on Wayne Rooney after his wonder goal won the Manchester derby on Saturday.
Just hours after the Old Trafford clash, the England pals went head to head on FIFA 2011 on the Xbox.
Lescott, 28, said: “I just smiled at Wayne after the game but spoke to him later that evening through the Xbox.
“I just said ‘That was a great goal’ – you have to take your hat off to a goal like that. Wayne is a smashing player.
“I played FIFA with him. I’m all right but he’s better.
“And, although he beat me, I’m almost there now – I think I can almost take him!”
If you keep losing Joleon, you might want to think about benching yourself!

Rooney Flying Without Wings: HD Man Utd Vs Man City Rooney Goal Video
Rooney Bicycle Kick Goal Is Greatest Of His Career. Rooney Flying Without Wings celebrates with Nani, Fletcher and Smalling
Rooney used a spectacular bicycle kick with his back to the goal for the 2-1 win over rival Man City. “Yeah, I think that’s my best one," he said. "I just tried to get into a good position for when Nani crossed the ball. I saw it come into the box and I thought, ‘Why not?’. So I tried it [an overhead kick] and thankfully it went into the top corner.
“Nine times out of 10 they go over the crossbar or wide, but thankfully today it went into the top corner. It’s instinctive. You don’t have time to think about what you’re going to do.”
Replays of Rooney’s strike will be broadcast around the world for weeks. Even Wayne seemed a little taken aback by its brilliance as he struggled to find the words to describe how he felt when it hit the back of the net.
“It’s indescribable,” he said. “When City equalised they started moving the ball a bit and making life difficult for us. But we knew it was important to keep going and try and win the game.
“When I scored the goal, I could see the joy in the crowd, the joy among the players, the manager, the players and all the staff. It was a fantastic moment.”

I won't leave my house for a week if Manchester United lose to Manchester City - Ryan Giggs
Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs believes that a defeat at the hands of rivals Manchester City would prevent him from leaving his house for a week.
www.goal.com — "You don’t tend to leave the house for about a week if you lose. If you’ve lost one, you’ll be walking down the street and a City fan will come and let you know about it. But that’s me being a local lad and living around the area."

Man Utd News: Smalling set for derby start
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Chris Smalling will start alongside captain Nemanja Vidic in central defence for the visit of Manchester City on Saturday.
Ferdinand has not recovered from the calf injury he sustained in the warm-up ahead of United's defeat at Wolves last week. Evans played in that game but missed Northern Ireland's loss to Scotland on Wednesday with an ankle injury and is still sidelined.
Smalling, a £10million signing from Fulham in the summer, has performed admirably in his performances for United so far this season but has yet to face a stern test of his defensive capabilities. A cool and calm defender, much like Ferdinand, Smalling has so far mainly showed his passing and aerial ability without having to over-exert himself with tackling and blocking. The attacking talent at City’s disposal should give a solid barometer for his ability to deal with the pressure of such a high-octane contest. Nonetheless, his form was rewarded with a first call-up to the senior national team for the friendly with France in November, although you suspect that manager Fabio Capello was more interested in taking a first-hand look at Smalling than using him on the pitch.
