Jamie Carragher attempting to apologise to Nani

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was turned away from Manchester United's changing room after trying to apologise to Nani for the horror tackle which left the winger injured, according to The Telegraph.

Carragher caught the Portuguese international with a flying lunge in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over United but only received a caution from referee Phil Dowd.

The tackle left Sir Alex Ferguson and the United bench furious and it could keep Nani out for up to a month.

After the game, the former England defender tried to get into the away dressing room at Anfield to apologise to the Manchester United star, but the coaching staff reportedly denied him access.

United staff were still furious with Carragher and also Phil Dowd for the way he handled the situation.

Nani, who left Anfield with nasty gashes down his leg and on crutches, looks almost certain to miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Arsenal.
